    115 Porter Drive, Middlebury, Vermont.

    • Take Route 100 South to Route 125 West in Hancock (approx. 4 miles).  Route 125 goes over the Middlebury Gap to Route 7 North (approx. 14 miles). Take a right onto Route 7 North which leads into Middlebury (approx. 4 miles).  Follow the Rotary, past the Middlebury Inn (a large brick building on the right) bearing left onto Main Street (look for the blue “H” signs).  Follow Main Street through town, over a bridge. At the fork in the road, bear left onto South Street.  Follow South Street less than a mile to where the Porter Campus and entrances will be visible on your left.

Snow Plowing:

Usually Dennis will plow our driveway between 8:00-8:30 am.
The town also plows our road about that time, too. Please be patient if it is a significant storm. And I always recommend dedicated snow tires in the winter, especially in the mountains. All season tires are not enough during a storm, even with AWD or 4WD.

Usually, it is for a short period. There are flashlights and battery powered lanterns in the kitchen, master bed and mud room. You will need to heat the cabin using the gas “wood stove”. (The heater will not work, but the gas stove will.) Do not use the hot tub until power returns. The water pressure is maintained with an electric pump, so use it sparingly. Light kitchen stove with match or lighter. Please don’t use candles. Also, there are battery powered lights at the top and bottom of the stairs that should automatically turn on. Thx.
