Checking Out of Birch Barn

  • Check out time is 11AM
  • Either strip beds or leave them unmade. This way we will know which beds were used.
  • Towels and linens can be left in baths (feel free to pile them in the bath floors which are tile).
  • Please run dishwasher if needed.
  • PLEASE MAKE SURE BASEMENT AND BACK DECK DOORS ARE PROPERLY CLOSED AND LOCKED. Instructions are on the doors, but the handle must be lifted up firmly, then the deadbolt needs to be closed (turn counter-clockwise). Pull up on handle and turn deadbolt. For doors out to the deck, BE SURE TO PULL UP ON HANDLE OF LEFT DOOR, TOO. It sometimes takes a few tries, but it is extremely important as the winds can otherwise blow the doors open (which has happened mid winter!)
  • Confirm the hot tub cover is closed and latched at all fours points. Again, the wind can blow open the cover which could lead to the tub freezing.
  • Make sure the fireplace is off. (Sometimes the fan will continue running, but the flame will go off.)
  • Turn off all lights (inside and out) except mudroom.
  • Bring in any cushions inside from the back deck.
  • Close and lock front door (hit the “Ultraloc” button to lock).
